Niger’s President Abdoulaye Hamane Tiani has signed two decrees that exceptionally confer upon Malian President Assimi Goita and Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traoré the dignity of the Grand Cross of the National Order of Niger. The decrees were signed on July 19, 2024 in Niamey, Niger, according to Niger State Television’s 8pm News.

The President of the National Council for the Defence of the Fatherland, Head of State, Brigadier General Abdoulaye Hamane Tiani, Grand Order of the National Order, signed two decrees to enhance the dignity of the Grand Cross of the National Order of Niger, in particular the following personalities:
His Excellency Colonel Assimi Goita, Transitional President and Head of State of Mali
His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso and Head of State of Burkina Faso.
These two honours are bestowed in recognition of the unwavering commitment of these two personalities to supporting the sovereignty and unity of our nations within the Saber Alliance of States (AES), as well as the preservation and influence of our culture and values and the dignified development of our respective peoples.
