Motorcyclist, 19-year-old boy dies in collision with patrol officer

19-year-old motorcyclist Revi Demetrashvili died in a traffic accident on Kazbegi Avenue in Tbilisi.

Law enforcement officers chased him and one of the crew members allegedly gave way to a speeding motorcycle and the boy collided with the crew member’s car, resulting in his death.

The procuratorate launched an investigation into the incident in accordance with Article 276, Paragraph 6 of the Criminal Law, which stipulates “violating traffic or operating regulations, resulting in casualties.”
