About one in five Tyumen residents regularly participates in volunteer activities. The most active in this regard are people aged 18 to 25.

In 2023, 130,000 Tyumen residents participated in various volunteer projects. This number accounts for 18.1% of the city’s total population over the age of 7, which currently exceeds 751,000. It is planned that the number of volunteers will increase to 138,000 by 2024.

Sergey Borisevich, head of the Tyumen city government’s sports and youth policy department, presented the statistics to members of the city council.

Today, volunteers in Tyumen are actively working in more than 15 areas of activity. The volunteer movement is supported by more than 50 private and public organizations, including social institutions. The most effective groups of professional volunteers are medical personnel, cyber volunteers and search teams for missing persons.

Sergey Borisevich stressed that an important requirement for work is registration on the single information platform “Dobro.ru”. Currently, there is no paper version of the volunteer manual; all processes are carried out digitally. Most of the volunteers are from the age group of 18-25 years old. The activities of “silver” volunteers are also paid attention to.
