At the end of the 2023/2024 school year, on Sunday, June 30, 2024, the Supplementary Schools of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a traditional performance in Stuttgart “You are the only one – Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

Diaspora identity and mother tongue

The three-hour event delighted everyone present. He started by singing the national anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina, followed by a panel discussion on the theme “Identity and mother tongue in the diaspora”. The panelists were professors: Azra Hodžić-Kadić from Vienna, Samra Mujanić from Konstanz, Alma Hodžić from Frankfurt and Ajdina Bešić from Stuttgart, and the conversation was moderated by the President of the DŠ Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Haris Halilović.

This was followed by an event attended by participants from Bosnian schools in Stuttgart-Nord, Sindelfingen, S-Wangen, Aalen and Frankfurt. The youngest members of KUD Mladi biseri from Stuttgart as well as musicians Mišo Mandić, Muhamed Aganović, Zoran Fejzagić, writer Rizvan Rizvić and many others enriched and expanded the Stuttgart program.

The central event of the Stuttgart “You Are One – Bosnia and Herzegovina” event is the announcement of the best literary and artistic works of male and female students for the academic year 2023/2024. This year marks the year for those who participated in the traditional competition of the Union under the theme “My, Your, Our Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

The best literature

According to the decision of the expert jury chaired by Professor Ajdina Bešić, the first place in the category of literary works was shared by three works: “Am I British or Bosnian?” Dino Pasik (15) Student at London Additional School (UK) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, author of Freedom and Peace Dane Gromillich (13), London Additional School, Bosnia and Herzegovina (UK) and his book “Bosno moja” Harun Nusica second-year student from Sindelfingen (Germany).

The second place was shared by Selver Muratović with his work “My Homeland” and Adem Nuhić, a fifth-grader from Sindelfingen, Germany, with his work “My, Your, Our Bosnia and Herzegovina”, while the third place went to Lejla Čajić, Hiba Nuhić (Sindelfingen) and a third-grader from Wolfratshausen (Germany).

Best Artwork

More than 100 works from all over the world were submitted to the Association’s competition for the best artworks of male and female students. According to the decision of the expert jury, the first place winners are: Sara Abadžija (14 years old), a student of the Sonderberg School in Bosnia (Denmark), whose teachers are Medina Abadžija and Edin Kazić, and the joint work of students of the Bosnian School in Frankfurt, second place went to Vedad Kadić from Augsburg (Bosnian School in Munich), sixth graders Laim and Sara Mujić from the North Bosnian School in Stuttgart, and third place went to Amar Rizvanović from Sindelfingen and Sara Ajanović from Stuttgart.
