MMPRC is not afraid to recover the lost funds, said Mohammed Mueizu.
The President, speaking at the Independence Day celebrations, said the MMPRC and other such thefts ended the fear of recovering funds owed to the state.
“Hopefully I can recover the money. Of course, I’ve never recovered a penny from them. So I have nothing to be afraid of,” he said.
The President said a special law was being prepared to recover money owed to the state, like the money lost by the MMPRC.
Former Vice President Ahmed Adib and then-MMPRC Managing Director Abdul Zia were convicted and sentenced. They are serving their sentences under house arrest after former President Ibrahim Mohamed Saleh pardoned them three days before the end of his term.
