Basseterre, St. Kitts, Wednesday, June 19, 2024: The Ministry of Education held a closing ceremony for the in-service training programme with the theme “Transformation”.
On Tuesday, June 18, we will host a seminar on “Advancing Higher Education through Self-Renewal, Holistic Partnerships and Digital Solutions”.
Chief Education Officer, Mr. Francil Morris, congratulated the participants: “I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of you who have persevered and successfully completed the course requirements. Your dedication to professional development is truly inspiring. I hope that the knowledge and skills you have acquired over the past year will be a valuable asset and will undoubtedly enhance the teaching and learning experience in your classrooms.”
Distinguished educator Ms. Sandra Morton encouraged participants to implement
The skills they have learned.
“I believe all of you are serious about education, so all the pedagogy you learn throughout the year, you can’t just learn it and let it go with the wind. You should apply it and show the people you meet in school that you think differently.”
Ms. Alana Webbe, a teacher at Archibald High School in Washington, shared her experience of the training.
“I embarked on this journey with the sole purpose of acquiring as much information as possible to maximize my potential and help myself become the best educator I can be. However, I encountered many challenges throughout the year and had to adapt my approach in order to overcome them.”
The closing ceremony marked a major milestone in the ministry’s efforts to reform the education sector through innovative practices and the latest teaching methods.
