Kathmandu, August 3. Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary said the work is being taken forward by giving top priority to sports infrastructure for cricketers. He said this while speaking at an event organised by the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) at Hotel Solti in Kathmandu on Monday.
While launching the logo of Nepal Premier League, he said, “I am giving priority to building cricket stadiums. I will launch sports infrastructure like Danga Cricket Stadium, Chitwan International Cricket Stadium during my tenure.
He also assured that the cricket stadium to be constructed in Dhangadi will be built in a stately and grand manner.
Minister Chaudhry said the goal of the cricket association based on the franchise system named after major cities of Nepal is very admirable and stressed the need to develop cricketers from the local area.
“Can’s goal of introducing a franchise system based on the names of major cities in Nepal is admirable,” he said. “It is best for the long-term development of cricket.”
He stressed that Nepal cricket will greatly support tourism, economy and employment in the future.
The T-20 franchise league Nepal Premier League will begin on November 15. The matches will be held from November 15 to December 6.
