Ahmed Ramiz, deputy chairman of the North Malanda County Council, has died.
Ahmed Ramiz, deputy chairman of the Maranhu Parliament, died earlier this evening. Ramiz died after a bout of illness. He was being treated at Didudhu Atoll Hospital.
Ramiz’s condition worsened after a friendly match between Maranhu and Neledu tonight. Ramiz came on in the second half but was benched before the end of the match due to fatigue. After the match, he started vomiting on the bench and was taken to Maranhu Health Centre for treatment. However, a spokesperson said he was taken to Didudu Hospital due to his worsening condition.
Marandhoo Council mourned the death of Ramiz. Ramiz was elected as a member of Marandhoo Council for the opposition MDP. This was his first term on the council.
