The Postal Service has announced that 95% of mail-in ballots for the upcoming presidential election have been distributed.
The remaining ballots, mostly allocated to military bases, will be mailed tomorrow, said Rajitha Ranasinghe, senior deputy postmaster general.
A total of 712,318 state sector employees are eligible to vote by post in the 2024 elections, with the highest number of eligible voters from Kurunegala district at 76,977.
Mail-in voting is scheduled for September 4, 5 and 6.
