Hospital sources said that all 28 injured persons, including three seriously, were in a serious condition in the bus-truck accident that took place in Madampe Irattakulam area around 8.45 am today (4).
The director of Harawasa Hospital said during an inquiry in Lankasara that the condition of three injured persons was very critical and they had all been sent to the intensive care unit for surgery, while one injured person had been sent to the Colombo National Hospital.
The accident occurred at Madampa Irattakulama area on Peliyagoda Puttalam Road. The accident was caused by a Langama bus belonging to Harawasa Station on Route 4 from Harawasa to Colombo, which collided with a truck traveling on the same route.
Police said the bus partially collided with the truck. The accident happened in rainy weather and the drivers of both vehicles have been hospitalized. Madampe police are conducting further investigations.
