As Velana International Airport prepares for the peak tourist season, a major focus is on creating a comfortable and efficient environment for outbound passengers and airlines. Facilities management has begun efforts to expand the existing terminal area, resolve congestion issues, and maintain appropriate temperatures throughout the facility.
Speaking at the launch event for the winter preparations, Ibrahim Sharif Mohammed, CEO of MACL, the company’s Facilities Management and Utilities Department (FMUD), said the event was the beginning of the planned work. He noted that the work done within the company was done in consultation among employees. He also assured that the airport will set targets for next year’s season, address challenges encountered in achieving them, and find the necessary resources to further improve the services provided by the airport.
