Today Microsoft released an update to its Lync Android client. This new version brings some pretty significant changes.
* Support passive authentication
* Support certificate authentication
These two changes bring the Android client in line with other mobile clients in terms of authentication. This is a necessary step to support Android as a mature mobile client.
* Contact management
This option is only available in the cloud… which is a bit disappointing, but don’t worry, it will be available in the next on-premises version.
One subtle but very welcome difference in this new version is that the calendar has been changed to cover more days instead of just today.
What are you waiting for? Go to the store and buy it now.
