Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko made a statement to the Belarussian news agency.

Lukashenko said they would not bring Belarusian troops across the border to fight: “There is no order to leave the country and this will not happen. We will fight only if they come to us with bad intentions, just like them.”

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted that Belarus was gathering soldiers and military equipment on the border in the name of training, and warned that if the border was breached, all military units and facilities would become targets of attack by the army.

On the other hand, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced on August 26 that it would send missile and artillery units to Russia for training.
