Limeno Municipal drew 1-1 with FAS in a chaotic match on the eighth day of the 2024 Kick-off Festival, played at the Ramón Flores Berríos stadium amid heavy rain and power outages.
It wasn’t until the 79th minute that Javier Fellman gave Limenio the lead through a penalty kick. Then, after a mistake by Mexican goalkeeper Joel Almeida, Emiliano Villar scored a lucky goal and FAS tied the score at 83 points.
Before the end of the first half, referee Elmer Martinez sent off FAS head coach Agustín Castillo, who returned to play his second match for Santaneco. In addition, Freddy Espinosa was also ejected from Limenio.
In the 65th minute, the Ramón Flores Berríos stadium lost power, delaying the match for a few minutes before power was restored.
