Balewa (Bagalong), June 26. The Baglung section of the east-west Pushpalal (Midhill) highway has been blocked due to landslides and incessant rain since Tuesday night.
Due to landslide at 1 Dudilabhati in Galkot city, the road was blocked.
Vijay Yadav, deputy superintendent of police at the district police station, said the road was difficult to access due to constant landslides on the steep terrain.
He said police and locals were working hard to avert landslides. Long and short-distance vehicles from West Baglong and neighbouring Rukum district had stopped at Dudilabati as public roads were blocked.
Due to landslides in the Kali Gandaki Corridor, a national pride project, vehicular movement has not stopped for four days.
The corridor operation is facing difficulties as the road ‘track’ was washed away due to landslides. Vehicle movement on local roads in Baglung has come to a halt as two major national highways in the area have been blocked.
