Kareena Kapoor Khan has finally spoken out on the controversy that arose last year when she allegedly collected Rs 12 crore for her role as Sita in the film Ramayana.
According to rumours, the film will require a long-term commitment and hence Kareena is demanding a hefty salary.
The actress was involved in this controversy last year and now after a year, the actress has finally explained why she remained silent on this controversy.
She told and news, “I never gave an explanation because no one ever gave it to me.”
Kareena added, “I don’t even know why I was cast in this role as I am not the protagonist of the film. These are all made-up stories and I don’t want to bring down anyone because even they need stories. Every day people look for some kind of story on Instagram but I don’t know where these stories come from.”
Earlier, Kareena Kapoor also spoke about pay discrimination in the film industry.
At that time she told The Guardian “I know exactly what I want and I think that should be respected. It’s not about demanding, it’s about respecting women. I think things are changing.
During the controversy, many actresses like Pooja Hedge, Taapsee Pannu and Priyamani came to Kareena’s defense.
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor will be seen alongside Aamir Khan in the upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha.
