Immunologist, professor, MD Tengiz Tsertsvadze has died at the age of 76. According to relatives, Tengiz Tsertsvadze had been ill recently.

Zeltswardze was the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Pathology, AIDS and Clinical Immunology, a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and a Knight of the Presidential Order of Merit. On October 3, 2020, he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Tbilisi along with eight other doctors who fought the COVID-19 pandemic.
