Indian students made the country proud by winning 2 silver and 2 bronze medals at Vienna International Arts Festival

Young Indian singers took to the stage and showcased their exceptional singing abilities in the Voice category of the Vienna International Festival 2024. The prestigious music competition held in Vienna brought together talented performers from all over the world, highlighting the diverse talents present.

In 2024, the Vienna International Festival presents a fascinating music competition, bringing together skilled artists from all over the world. This exciting event takes place in Vienna and consists of two different stages. First, contestants are asked to submit a video of their performance, with no limit on the length of the work. The next competition stage takes place in Vienna, filling the city with beautiful music from August 5 to 10, 2024.

Indian students shine at Vienna International Arts Festival

The competition culminated with a grand closing concert at the Erbar Concert Hall in Vienna on 10 August 2024. There, young Indian contestants shone with two silver and two bronze medals in various categories and age groups. Ira Shinde and Vanshi Mudaliar showcased their talent by winning silver medals in the vocal category in the 10-14 age group.

Alabhya Kamble bagged the third position in the same category while Pratibha Kadu bagged the third position in the age group of 15 to 19. Their training came directly from Rahel Shekatkar, the owner of Raheloveena Music Academy, who successfully trained them into champions.

The competition features multiple categories including piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, chamber music and individual vocals. Contestants in each category have unique pieces from different periods such as Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern to showcase their skills. Solo Instruments and Chamber Music

– Age group A (6-9 years): 3-5 minutes
– Age group B (10-14 years): 5-8 minutes
– Age group C (15-19 years): 8-15 minutes
– Age group D (20-27 years): 15-25 minutes

Vocal Solo

– Age group A (6-9 years): 4-5 minutes
– Age group B (10-14 years): 5-8 minutes
– Age group C (15-19 years): 9-11 minutes
– Age group D (20-27 years): 12-16 minutes

The jury is made up of experienced artists and teachers. Their job is not only to evaluate each performance, but also to make the difficult choices and select the most noteworthy works.

The competition assesses the performer’s overall musical appeal, grasp of the original music, proficiency of techniques, charm and enthusiasm of the performer, etc. The score ranges from 1 to 100 points. Certificates, medals and honorary titles are awarded based on the scores.
