Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. Subramaniam Jayashankar has concluded his three-day official visit to Sri Lanka. He arrived in Andhra Pradesh to conclude his visit to India. Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Musa Zamil bid him farewell at the Gandhinagar International Airport.
Indian Foreign Minister visits Sri Lanka. Both sides paid courtesy calls to the Prime Minister and discussed strengthening bilateral relations.
Addressing the meeting, the President stressed the close historical ties between the two countries and assured that the government will work to further strengthen these relations.
During the meeting, the President and the Indian External Affairs Minister discussed ongoing projects and various areas of future cooperation. They discussed economic sectors, housing, defense, tourism, infrastructure development and capacity building.
The Indian External Affairs Minister has completed water supply and sewerage systems in 28 villages under a credit line from the Export-Import Bank of India. Land reclamation, beach protection and construction of a four-lane bypass road have also been completed in Andhra Pradesh.
He also met with Foreign Minister Moussa Zamir and Defence Minister Mohammad Ghassan Maumoon. Further strengthening of economic ties between Sri Lanka and India was also discussed along with Economic Development and Trade Minister Mohammad Saeed; Mohammad Shafiq and Maldives Monetary Authority Director General Ahmed Munawar.
