In 2022, the number of immigrants who had been in France for at least a year increased by 21% compared to 2018-2019. The increase was particularly pronounced in the number of immigrants from European countries outside the EU, especially Ukraine and Russia, due to the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
Half of the immigrants entering France in 2022 will be between 18 and 38 years old when they arrive, and by the beginning of 2023, half of immigrants aged 25 and over will have a higher education degree.
