Lebanon’s Hezbollah group has launched a series of drone attacks on military targets in northern Israel.
The attack injured at least seven people, one of them seriously.
On the other hand, Israeli fighter jets flew over the Lebanese capital Beirut, causing a series of sonic booms that shocked residents of the city.
As a result, residents were forced to open their windows to prevent glass from shattering, or stand on balconies to watch planes flying overhead.
Despite drone and rocket attacks on northern Israel, the Hezbollah group warned that retaliation was yet to come.
The drones were launched in response to the killing of a Hezbollah special forces commander.
In addition to Ali Jawad, Hezbollah has vowed to avenge the death of Beirut commander Fouad Shoukr, raising concerns that a major escalation could lead to a full-scale conflict in the region.
Israeli officials said he was responsible for a rocket attack on Israel’s Golan Heights last month that killed 12 children and teenagers.
Hours after Shoukr was killed, Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran. Fears are growing that the Middle East could be drawn into a major war after Hezbollah vowed to avenge the killing of commander Fuad Shoukr and Iran vowed to avenge the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
