“What do governments and campaigns do with the data they receive?” Bream asked Vance. Not so good in the polls. “I mean, these are key states, and you’ve got to find a path to 270. Is there any pivot, is there any, um, you know, reconfiguration of what you’re doing in this strategy? Because you talk about your message — but it’s not landing?”
“First, polls tend to greatly overstate Democratic support, and we certainly saw that in polls in the summer of 2020 and in the summer of 2016. And of course, by Election Day, a lot of polls were wrong,” Vance responded.
“Kamala Harris was a little excited a few weeks ago, but Shannon, based on our own internal data, Kamala Harris’ excitement has leveled off,” Vance said. “If you talk to people inside the Kamala Harris campaign, they are very concerned about their situation.”
