The National Green Hydrogen Roadshow hosted by government and Hyphen Hydrogen Energy continued its tour across the country this week, visiting Kunene, Oshikoto and Ohangwena regions.
The roadshow, which was launched on June 18 in Ojo, aims to engage local communities and stakeholders to share detailed information about the Hyphen green hydrogen project and its socio-economic development framework.
At the forefront of the meeting were Green Hydrogen Council Chairman Obeth Kandjoze, his team and Hyphen representatives. The meeting allowed locals to understand the benefits of the project and ask questions, ensuring transparency and open dialogue, the roadshow statement read.
The Hyphen project represents an investment of up to US$10 billion (over N$180 billion), equivalent to one year’s GDP of Namibia. The project is expected to create 15,000 jobs during construction and 3,000 permanent jobs, with a focus on providing employment opportunities for Namibians.
