Galway City Council, the Galway Gaelic Football Association and the emergency services will host a homecoming event for the Galway football team and management at Pearse Stadium today to celebrate the team’s extraordinary season.
Pierce Stadium will open at 5 p.m., and the team is expected to arrive at 6 p.m., where the players and management team will be introduced to the crowd.
The event is free and will feature family entertainment before the teams arrive at the stadium.
Congratulations to all the players and management at Galway Senior Football for a great week and month of excitement and anticipation – thank you for your dedication to the sport and for all you have achieved for the club, parish, county and the people of Galway.
Galway County Council will also be hosting an event in Tuam. Doors to Tuam Stadium will open at 2pm and teams will arrive between 3:30pm and 4pm.
All roads leading to Tuam/Pearce Stadium will be closed, patrons are asked to park in council car parks and walk to the site.
Free parking will be available for the event in City Council and County Council car parks.

Bags will be checked upon entry to the stadium – to avoid long queues, people are strongly advised not to bring bags.
This is an alcohol-free event.
Any items deemed dangerous to the stadium will not be allowed into the venue.
Photographs and video will be taken during the event which may be used in City Council/Galway Gaelic Football Association/An Garda Síochána publicity, promotional reports, websites and social media.
Those attending the event are asked to comply with the instructions or directions of crew, security and members of the An Garda Síochána.
