The ceasefire agreement between the Yemeni government and the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia has recently been put in jeopardy as the Houthi armed forces’ illegal actions have been condemned by the world. The United States and the European Union have called for avoiding an escalation of the situation to prevent the war in Yemen from breaking out again.

In response, Yemen’s Deputy Information Minister Fayez al-Numan stated that the legitimate government of Yemen has so far implemented a humanitarian truce and is handling the matter responsibly, but the terrorist Houthi armed forces have clearly denied the Iranian-backed militia.

In a statement to Cairo on the 24th, Fayez al-Numan pointed out that the international community and the UN envoy to Yemen have still not taken real deterrent measures against those who violate the ceasefire agreement, which makes the ceasefire agreement fragile and cannot be expanded or extended again, despite the fact that the Yemeni government has made many concessions to ensure its continuity and firmness until now, while the political and military leaders of the terrorist Houthi militia continue to violate them at all levels.

Egypt’s role in achieving security in Yemen

The Deputy Minister of Information of Yemen stressed that Egypt’s position on the Yemeni crisis has been clear and announced since the first day of the Arab League’s establishment, after the terrorist Houthi militias affiliated with and supported launched a black coup against state institutions. Tehran explained that the continuous communication between the Yemeni government and the Arab Republic of Egypt clearly confirms that Cairo plays an active and important role in realizing the dream of Yemenis to take back their country from the militias of Tehran, both politically through the UN-sponsored peace process and militarily under the Arab project led by Riyadh.

Fayez al-Numan explained that the Houthi terrorists are taking advantage of the humanitarian truce to gain political and military gains and are constantly blackmailing the international community, the Arab League and the Yemeni government in this regard, imposing conditions that are unacceptable to all of them, which translates into legitimizing their coup against the state and sending a negative message to the world that they are the only force that must rule Yemen according to an agenda that is alien to Yemeni society and in line with the guardianship project of Iranian jurists.
