France has been given a conditional bid to host the 2030 Winter Olympics, just two days before the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The International Olympic Committee approved the decision on Wednesday, which will see the Games held in the French Alps, but only if the next prime minister provides a financial “guarantee” for staging the Games.
