Ilya Sutskever, co-founder and former chief scientist at ChatGPT maker OpenAI, said Wednesday he is starting a new artificial BroadCast Unitedligence company.
The company is focused on creating a safe AI environment at a time when some of the largest tech companies are looking to dominate the generative AI boom.
Sutskever announced his plans for the company, called Safe SuperBroadCast Unitedligence, which its website describes as a U.S. company with offices in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv, in a post on X.
“Our focus means we are not distracted by overhead or product cycles, and our business model means safety, security and progress are not impacted by short-term commercial pressures,” the post reads.
Sutskever is joined by former OpenAI researcher Daniel Levy and Cue co-founder and former Apple AI chief Daniel Gross, both co-founders of Safe SuperBroadCast Unitedligence.
Sutskever left Microsoft-backed OpenAI in May after playing a key role in the firing and rehiring of CEO Sam Altman last November. Upon Altman’s return, Sutskever was removed from the company’s board of directors.
