The government introduced compensation for post-vaccination complications as the 10th package to mitigate the consequences of the pandemic was unveiled. Coronavirus-19.

“The introduction of tort liability and no-fault compensation is essential to maintaining confidence in safety and quality,” The then Minister of Health said in November 2021 Janez Pokluka.

The case of 20-year-old Katja is a special case. She died from the Janssen vaccine in 2021. Because before the epidemic, the law only stipulated liability for damages for compulsory vaccinations, and no liability for damages for preventive vaccinations. Coronavirus-19, Katja’s relatives were unable to obtain compensation.

Kagina’s mother Tatjana Jagodic she says: “In April, we filed our complaint with the state attorney’s office, but I was hoping to at least get a response. We haven’t received a response since then.”

Only if a specially established committee determines whether there is a link between the vaccination and the person’s medical complications, the individual or their relatives will be entitled to compensation. If the committee confirms that a person has suffered long-term health consequences as a result of the vaccination, compensation of €60,000 will be paid. €20,000 will be paid to the children of the deceased, and a minimum of €10,000 will be paid to the partner or parents of the deceased’s children.

Jagodic warned:really The amount is too small. In fact, 10,000 euros is worth Katja’s life, which in my opinion is clearly insufficient. It would be great if it increased, because I also have a permanent consequence, mentally, emotionally, which will leave a mark on me for the rest of my life. “

The Ministry of Health has paid out five compensations so far, four of which were for people who suffered long-term health effects.
