Colonel Mounir Riabi, director of the Tunis Regional Civil Protection, announced in a telephone intervention on the “Ahla Sbah” program on Thursday, July 25, 2024, that a fire had broken out in a tourist park located on the banks of the Tunis River. The Lake incident was under control at around 9 pm on Tuesday without causing any casualties.
Colonel Munir Riabbi explained that the fire was caused by a group of small cars, was not large in scale and occurred in a remote area.
The official stressed that such places must comply with security procedures, referring to illegal spaces set up in an ungovernment manner that must be authorized by the civil protection department and controlled by the competent authorities.
