President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni received the family of his Deputy Press Secretary, Alhaji Farouk Kirenda, at State House, Entebbe on Wednesday.
The meeting was held after Hajji Kirunda’s wife, Gladys Aliyinza, died in a fatal car accident on June 27, 2024 in the Luka district.
During the meeting, President Museveni formally expressed his condolences to Haji Kirunda’s family and extended his sympathy to Haji Kirunda’s family for the loss of his wife and mother.
The President also commended Alhaji Kirenda as a dedicated and loyal public servant.
“Thank you for your dedicated service to the government,” he said.

President Museveni further promised that he would provide all necessary support to Alhaji Kirunda and his late wife’s children.
The children include: Mulungi Charity, Kirunda Mandela Omar, Mutesi Clinton Ayra and Nkurumah Keithan Kirunda.
At a funeral in Lukalambala village last month, President Museveni said the National Resistance Movement had lost a loyal cadre and a great mobilizer.

“My heart goes out to her family during this dark time. The beautiful memories you shared with her will live forever,” the President said in a message conveyed by the Vice President, Her Excellency Jessica Alupo.
“I commend Alhaji Kirenda for his dedication. The National Resistance Movement is a big clan; therefore, you can count on everyone’s support during this difficult time,” he said.
