“UNRWA has been a lifeline for generations of Palestinian refugees in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. I am proud that today Slovenia has announced an additional financial contribution of €1 million. This brings the total aid to 30 times higher than our average contribution to the Agency,” Slovenia’s Foreign Minister stressed Tanya Farjonwho presented the joint commitment at a donor conference created at the initiative of Slovenia, Jordan and Kuwait.
The Prime Minister also welcomed the joint commitment initiative Robert DoveHe stressed that support for UNRWA and its work, particularly in Gaza, was extremely important. “Palestinians can always count on Slovenia,” Golob announced on the X social network.
“Today, at the United Nations Headquarters, we are very proud of Slovenia, which, together with Jordan and Kuwait, has so far gathered 118 signatories in support of UNRWA,” the minister said, adding that UNRWA was indispensable in helping people trapped and desperate during the war in Gaza.

The statement, endorsed by more than 118 countries, including all members of the Security Council, highlighted the challenges UNRWA faces politically and financially, as well as in carrying out its activities on the ground.
During the New York event, Minister Tanya Farhun met with UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini. They spoke about the current situation in Gaza and the issues the agency is dealing with. Meanwhile, Fayonova offered further support.

This has earned us great recognition from the Agency, and even today all countries are continuing to provide significant financial assistance to the Agency.
