Faisalabad police has formed its first all-women ‘Dolphin Team’ to empower women in the district.

This will be the first police force in Faisalabad to consist entirely of women officers who will perform duties that were previously performed by male officers.

This empowered women squad will go a long way in empowering women across the country by taking on those who disturb the peace and order on a daily basis.

To prepare the women police officers for the task, they received special training in operating 500cc heavy motorcycles and automatic weapons to help them carry out their duties.

The all-female Dolphin team, which includes 500 female commandos, will work alongside their male counterparts to set up roadblocks and conduct raids on the streets of Faisalabad.

Faisalabad’s chief police officer said women dolphin teams would be deployed first and patrol public places with a large number of women, such as colleges and markets.

This will provide a sense of ease to women on duty and running errands and enable them to convey their issues, if any, to the Women Dolphins comfortably in a public space.
