External Affairs Minister Deuba meets Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi

New Delhi, August 3. Visiting Foreign Minister Deuba Rana held a courtesy meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the meeting, External Affairs Minister Deuba handed over to Modi an invitation from Prime Minister Oli to visit Nepal. The meeting also discussed strengthening cooperation between Nepal and India in various areas of common interest.

After the meeting, Foreign Minister Deuba wrote on the social network Facebook, “I look forward to the historical relations between Nepal and India to reach a higher level through my visit and high-level meetings as Nepal’s Foreign Minister.”

The meeting was attended by Indian Foreign Minister Jayantha J. Jayanthakar, Security Advisor Ajit Doval and officials representing the Nepali Embassy.

External Affairs Minister Sherif Deuba met his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Monday.

The two foreign ministers met to review the progress made in bilateral initiatives and development projects and discussed further expanding cooperation. The meeting also discussed expanding cooperation in the energy sector, officials said.
