The rules were amended to give the president discretion to deduct import duties for use by the security services to ensure the safety of the country and its citizens.

The amendment was introduced on Tuesday under the powers vested in the president under the Import and Export Act.

Under previous regulations, they had to pay a 35% tariff.

The rules were amended earlier this year to make weapons, ammunition, their parts and components and related parts non-duty-free.

The amendment will give the president the power to deduct customs duties on imported items for use by security agencies to ensure the safety of citizens.
