The Director of the Museum of Ethnography welcomed the participants. Marko KristićHe noted that culture and sports are the best promoters of our country. Explaining the reasons for the participation of the Ethnographic Museum in such an important competition, Krstić said it is very important that the museum participates in this event to promote Serbia and our traditions in many ways.

When you cross swimming (a traditional sport like all water sports) on one hand and the foundation and DNA of Serbia on the other, you will find the relationship between traditions, swimming and Serbian decoration. Together we came to a result that conveys the most beautiful messages and pictures. Serbian traditions together with sports offer all participants of the European Championships the opportunity to get to know a part of our cultural heritage. – said the director of the Ethnographic Museum.

Krstić announced that the Ethnographic Museum will continue to support such projects in the future, because, as he explained, Serbian decoration is one of the foundations of Serbia’s cultural heritage.

Executive Director of European Aquatics Prevention, Nemanja Svijelicic Greetings to all present and thanks to the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar VucicTo the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Milos Vucevicthe president of the Serbian Swimming Federation and the organization’s executive committee, as well as representatives of the European Aquatics Federation.

Svejlicic followed the words of the director of the Ethnographic Museum, explaining that a team of 2,000 people, after hard work and attempts, managed to present the Republic of Serbia and the city of Belgrade in the best possible way, because all the athletes and participants who were visiting for the first time in history, will bring the best impressions and memories of Belgrade during the nine European Championships in these months.

We try to show participants and guests not only the history of sports, but also the history and culture of our country. The combination of culture, sports and history is what we should present to everyone and what we should be proud of because we have what we have. We hope that this medal is not only one of the medals that people bring home from major international competitions, but also something they will talk about when they go home. – Svjetličić stressed that it is no coincidence that there are five ornaments on it, because it symbolizes the beginning of the year when we will show our culture, history and sports from today until 2027, when there will be the “Expo” and when water sports will become Akvatik.

We managed to send the most beautiful photos from Belgrade and Serbia – said Svejlicic.
