England was no exception, they barely beat Serbia!

England kicked off the 2024 European Championship with a hard-fought victory. In the first game, England beat Serbia 1-0.

The 20-year-old, who won the Champions League with Real Madrid and was named La Liga Player of the Year, scored the saving goal for England. He crossed from the edge of the box and Bukayo Saka headed into the far corner. Bellingham scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute.

England played better than Serbia in the first half, but Serbia had chances to score in the second half. Serbia also managed to stop England’s best defensive players. But England also had few chances to score in the second half. Serbia got many chances in the second half.

In the 19th minute of the first half, Serbia’s Mitrovic sent a powerful ball from the edge of the penalty area. In the 24th minute, England defender Kyle Walker crossed the ball into the penalty area, but Foden and Harry Kane failed to find the ball. In the 36th minute, Saka crossed the ball into the goal area. Phil Foden was in the penalty area but could not receive the ball.

Serbia played better in the second half than in the first, even though Kostic was substituted two minutes into the first half due to injury. But these chances were not taken advantage of. In the 65th minute, Tadic’s low shot from the edge of the penalty area missed Jovic. In the 70th minute, England goalkeeper Pickford stopped Serbia’s attack.

Harry Kane’s shot in the 76th minute was the most dangerous shot of the game. Harry Kane headed the ball and it was caught by the Serbian goalkeeper. The ball hit the crossbar to start the game. The Serbian defender cleared the ball and did not give any more chances.

In the 81st minute, Serbia almost equalized the score. Vulahovic’s powerful shot outside the penalty area was saved by goalkeeper Pickford. Pickford was sent off for handball, but Bamancevic’s low shot was saved by Harry Kane.

Overall, England did not show their strength throughout the game. Serbia played well against England, proving that it was not easy for England to advance to the second round. Denmark and Slovenia were in the same group. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. So England is currently ranked first.
