E-education will help bridge the gap

– President Ali says government is committed to bringing connectivity to rural communities

President Dr Irfan Ali said digitisation and e-education (e-education) will help bridge the gap and provide fairer opportunities, and therefore, the government will continue to bring connectivity to rural communities.

The Head of State made the remarks during a recent visit to the St. Alatak community, where he noted that government will continue to invest in education.

He said the government would invest in teachers and teacher education because they wanted to ensure that teachers could receive training wherever they were.

“All our teachers must be given the opportunity to become trained teachers, and as you know, once you become trained teachers, your salary will increase,” he told the rally.

But more importantly, he said, if these teachers are trained, the government wants to ensure that every teacher who is trained also becomes a graduate of training, so they must be able to obtain a degree, a master’s degree or even a doctorate.

At the time, he said that while residents complained about connectivity issues, the administration immediately made a request to improve connectivity. Later that day, residents’ request for Wi-Fi connectivity was met and residents received the service.

President Ali added: “We want our nurses, our technicians, our children to be in an environment where they are constantly learning.”

However, speaking on the development of e-education across the country, he said a proposal had been received recently and assured that it would be completed. He noted that this would help streamline services and deploy critical skills across the country.

He added: “Digitalisation, digital education and e-education can help bridge the gap; it can help bridge the gap and give us more equal access to education.”

“Education is also about skills, the skills of teachers, the skills of children, and we have to use these skills for all the people of our country,” he said.

Earlier this year, President Ali had stressed that the government had agreed to implement a plan to use artificial BroadCast Unitedligence (AI) to build the country’s entire educational infrastructure modules, learning curriculum and teaching aids, and further move them to a fully electronic platform.
