The Alliance candidate for the Second District Mayor’s Office, Lares Hopinc, urged his opponent, Radu Mihaju, to prove electoral fraud through legal means and appeal to the relevant authorities.

Radu Hopinka believes that the allegations of electoral fraud in District 2 launched by USR’s counter-candidate Radu Mihaiu must be proven through legal means. Hopinka was declared the winner of the election for the mayoral position in District 3 before the BEC approved a recount at the request of Radu Mihaiu. According to the latest information from the AEP, Raresh Hopinc was also the candidate with the most votes.

Hopinka detailed certain irregularities at the polling station in District 2, which are currently being investigated by police and a criminal case is being drafted.

“We checked these problems, too. They are specific situations caused by multiple factors, depending on the department. One of the factors could be that, for example, the lists were received from the State Printing Office, and theoretically there should have been 400 communiqués for each list, or it could have been 390 or 410, and the section chiefs and deputies did not count these charts before the election process. The second reason could be related to the fact that citizens who came to vote chose to leave the polling station with their ballots without putting them in the ballot box. Of course, this is not civilized at all, and I think it is not even legal, but it must have been surprising when that citizen did this. We believe that there could be multiple reasons, but we believe that they are not the reason for distorting the voting results. I know that they created scandals, but they did not raise any objections, follow legal procedures, and do not use media scandals to solve them,” said Raresh Hopints.

However, Radu Mihaju said he could not initiate legal proceedings regarding several polling stations because in these places, minutes on the basis of which notices could be drawn up had not yet been drawn up.
