On the eve of the celebrations of the 34th anniversary of the Croatian Democratic Union City Council in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Chairman of the HDZ in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Djordje Djordje (HDZ), and the Chairman of the Croatian Government, Andrej Plenković, addressed the public.

– Plenkovic made extraordinary efforts and opened the door for us in Bosnia and Herzegovina to reach out to the EU, thank you for everything you did for Bosnia and Herzegovina and especially for the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina. “It is worth remembering all our veterans, I want to thank all those who built the structures of the Croatian People’s Headquarters Party in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Dragan Djovic.

– The 34th anniversary of the Mostar HDZ is very important, and we also want to support the candidate for the European Parliament, Željana Zovko. I am satisfied with the close cooperation between the Bosnian HDZ and the Croatian HDZ for more than a decade on two fundamental goals. The first and fundamental goal is the strong support of the Croatian government and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina to take strong steps in the direction of EU accession. I think that for the past ten years we have been trying to improve relations between Croatia and the EU through our activities, Plenkovic said, adding:

– The main element of our support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to the EU was the submission of its application for accession in 2016, when Mr. Djovic was the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The second step was two years ago, when Bosnia and Herzegovina received candidate status, and we were most active there. Finally, the third moment was the decision to open accession negotiations. I would also like to thank Mr. Djovic and especially Borjana Kristo, who had the political strength and art to pass many legal proposals and solutions. We helped Bosnia and Herzegovina to a positive conclusion. Croatia is here, it is a friend, and it will always speak out for the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina and all its member states on the path to EU accession. Another important point is the relationship between the two sides, which we decided to have a common property several years ago. We have done a lot in representing and promoting the status of Croats.
