MINSK, July 12 /Corr. Belta/. The Chuvash Republic is interested in cooperation with Belarus in the field of construction. During their meeting, First Deputy Minister of Construction and Building of Belarus Oleg Shvets and Minister of Construction, Building, Housing and Public Services of the Chuvash Republic Mikhail Koleda discussed the prospects for cooperation in construction and building, BelTA learned from a press conference of the Belarusian Ministry of Construction.
“We are geographically far away, but we have experience of working with many regions of Russia, including Primorsky Krai, so we are fully willing to cooperate,” Oleg Shvets noted. “I think it is better to start with the basics: design. We systematized this work. “We kept the Soviet school, but introduced new standards, developed master plans for cities and agricultural towns, and all their infrastructure and production.”
“Today in Chuvashia, and in Russia as a whole, there is a problem with design, and this problem worries us a lot, so we are very happy to cooperate with your design agency, and a large-scale renovation of schools is currently underway. It is underway in the region, and we will soon begin the renovation of the kindergarten,” – said Mikhail Koleda.
The First Deputy Minister stressed that Belarusian builders have high capabilities in building iconic buildings, they participated in the construction of nuclear power plants, the National Library, Minsk Stadium, etc. Therefore, Belarus has something to share with Chuvash not only in design, but also in construction.
“We also need building materials, such as tiles. Now work has been stopped for two months due to lack of materials. As a builder, I am worried that the market is saturated. It does not matter whether it is a Russian product or a Belarusian product, but the quality of Belarusian products is well-known, so we are very committed to establishing further cooperation.”
According to the Ministry of Construction and Architecture, in January-May 2024, the trade turnover of construction organizations of Belarus and the Chuvash Republic more than doubled compared to the same period in 2023. Exports increased 4.4 times. The basic products supplied by Belarus to this Russian region are: salt, stone, plastering materials, lime, structural and prefabricated reinforced concrete parts, products made of stone, gypsum, cement, asbestos, mica, wall materials. Belarus mainly imports building sanitary ceramic products -0-.
