A mentally disturbed man in Suriname attacked a group of men with an axe and stones as they walked past his home on Chatpal Street on Sunday evening.
The suspect first started throwing rocks at the men, leading to an argument.
During the standoff, the man pulled out a wooden stick and swung it in the direction of the group, injuring one of the men, who suffered cuts to his nose and toes.
Livorno police responded to the call and found the suspect seriously injured at the scene.
After coordination with the Surinamese prosecutor’s office, the suspect and the man involved in the case were repatriated.
