The FDH Bank Cup is set to see a thrilling final as the Blue Eagles and Nyasa Big Bullets face off at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe tomorrow, Sunday.
Both teams had impressive journeys to the final, with lower league side Blue Eagles pulling off an upset along the way.
Bullets coach Calisto Pasuwa urged his players to be cautious against the Eagles.
“We are in the FDH Bank Cup final. Our road to the final was not easy. I hope the boys don’t take this final lightly. The boys have come from far away and they know where they come from.
“For the Eagles to be in the final means they have done a lot and played well, so we need to keep the mood right to stay positive.”
On the other hand, Blue Eagles coach Elijah Kananji was confident about his team’s chances of winning, noting that the team had beaten the Bullets in the final.
“Our history of beating the Bullets in cup finals shows we have the upper hand. But we won’t dwell on the past and we need to go out and win the cup. There’s so much at stake.”

“We know the Bullets can cause us a lot of trouble after their elimination in the CAF Champions League, but we will also cause them trouble because we want to win the trophy.”
In an interview with local media, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Marketing and Broadcast Manager Tulipo Mwenelupembe described the final as “exciting”, noting that the journey of the teams to reach the final was impressive.
This game promises to be a gripping affair, with both teams showing remarkable resilience and skill throughout.

The bout will be officiated by highly regarded referee Davie Chinoko, who has been praised for making very few mistakes in high-profile bouts.
With the stadium gates opening ahead of schedule, fans are eagerly anticipating the fierce battle between these two determined teams.
