Janakpurdham (Dhanusha), July 26. The Food Technology and Quality Control Office in Janakpur will take action against two dairies for not producing milk products as per prescribed standards.

Janaki in Janakpur-14 and Vishal Dairy Udyog in Chireswarnath city have moved the Janakpur district court against the two companies for violating the standards of operation and have initiated legal proceedings.

The office took action after collecting samples of materials produced by the two industries during monitoring, said Praveen Tiwari, information officer at the office.

The samples of fodder, ghee and processed milk produced by Maanjanji Dairy were found to be substandard. He said that ghee used in the huge dairy industry has been found to be defective. Ghee produced by large dairies has been destroyed in the market.

Commercial hotels, restaurants, meat shops, grocery stores, sweet shops, boarding school canteens, hospital canteens were monitored. Tiwari said that during the monitoring, non-edible items worth Rs 2 lakh were destroyed in the commercial farm.

Last year, when 3,587 food samples from eight districts of Madhes province were tested, 74 samples were found negative. Of these, 31 cases have been registered, statements have been completed in 16 cases and statements are yet to be taken in the rest, the Janakpur Food Technology and Quality Control Office said.
