Cyclist rides 90 miles in 50 zone

A Kirk Michael motorcyclist escaped an immediate driving ban after doing 90mph in a 50mph zone during the TT.

Gary David Rickwood, 55, of Main Road, admitted speeding by mail but was ordered to appear in person for sentencing.

On June 4, a police officer on an unmarked motorcycle spotted Rickwood coming out of Ballaff at 90 mph.

The court said he would not be banned from driving immediately but would be given eight points on his licence and fined £350.
