Last Friday, Lainda Westerhof appeared in court in the criminal case against him, and now the verdict in the civil case initiated by him against the Minister of Education, because his salary was stopped, is known.

The law allows for part of the salary of an employee under investigation to be deducted, and their salary to be stopped after they are released pending the progress of the case. It said this remains at the discretion of the relevant authority, namely the minister.

But in the Lainda Westerhof case, the court found that different circumstances had not been taken into account before the decision was made. For this reason, the minister’s decision to stop paying Lainda Westerhof’s salary was undermined.

Last Friday, he appeared in court on three charges, two of which prosecutors requested he be declared not guilty. His lawyer, Mr. Desiree Croes is confident he will be declared free on the third as well. A decision will be made within three weeks.

Judging by the wider reports, this hurt TREMPAN.
