Douglas Town Council has unveiled plans for a £1.4 million refurbishment of Douglas’ Sunken Gardens.
The local authority is renovating three gardens to add children’s play areas, a skate park and open spaces with seating.
Councillor Devon Watson said it was worth investing in a play area and additional sea defences in the sunken gardens.
Half of the money (from the loan) will go towards the construction of the play area, with a further £700,000 going towards the construction of Marine Gardens V and Queen’s Promenade Gardens.
Mr Watson said the authority welcomed ratepayer feedback on the design.
