There will be heavy showers in Vorarlberg on Friday and Saturday. Local flooding and smaller mudslides cannot be ruled out.

Heavy rains will start in Vorarlberg on Thursday and continue into Friday, intensified by a low pressure area in northern Italy. The precipitation will turn to heavy rain on Friday, with the snow line dropping to 1,600 metres. The northern part of Vorarlberg will be particularly badly affected.

Up to 120 mm

The heaviest rainfall is expected in the Lake Constance, Bregenz Wald and Arlberg regions. By Saturday, rainfall amounts could reach 70 to 100 millimeters, with even more than 120 millimeters possible in some areas. These large amounts could lead to damage in the priority areas mentioned above.

  • Regional road and rail disruptions
  • Danger of mudslides and landslides
  • Buildings as well as green and agricultural areas were flooded
  • Small and medium river floods
  • If you adjust your driving speed to the road conditions, you may hydroplane.
  • Plan for lost time or road and rail restrictions
  • Close doors, windows and skylights
  • Keep away from rapids, waterways and flooded areas
  • Avoid flooded underpasses and ditches

Relax on Saturday

Rain on Saturday! The rain will lighten up significantly in the morning and it will soon dry out in Montafon. The rain will also stop in northern Vorarlberg from midday.
