Kathmandu, August 1. On the instructions of Interior Minister Ramesh Akhtar, a committee has been formed to investigate the accident at Ghatgarh in Nabhaktapur.

A four-member inquiry committee was formed under the leadership of Bhaktapur Assistant District Officer Dorendra Niraula. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan Karki, who works at Bhaktapur Complex, Uttam Basnet, a mechanical engineer working at the traffic management department, Driving License Radheradhe and Tulsi Hari Koirala from the civil society were the members of the committee headed by Niraula.

The committee has been mandated to study the facts and submit a report within a week after holding discussions with all concerned parties regarding the accident.

The Home Minister has directed Inspector General (IGP) Basant Kunwar to conduct a serious investigation into the Ghathaghar accident.
