Miami-Dade County Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins will host her annual Back to School event on Friday, July 19, beginning at 11 a.m. The event will be held at South Dade Park, 28151 SW 164th Ave. Homestead, FL 33033, to provide District 8 students with school supplies for the new school year.
Commissioner Cohen Higgins said the event provides an opportunity for the community to ensure our young people have the necessary tools to succeed in their studies.
“Providing basic school supplies is critical to a child’s educational success, and by distributing these supplies to students in District 8, our goal is to ensure that every student has an equal opportunity for academic success.”
The event will also feature a performance from the Adrienne Arsht Center’s “Arsht on the Road,” fun activities for children, and Diabetic dermatitis and Billy Marlin. These exciting new additions are sure to make the event enjoyable for all in attendance.
Commissioner Cohen Higgins would like to thank our sponsors for their valuable partnership in making this Homecoming event a success. Their support will greatly benefit countless students in the District 8 community.
