Fena’s political analyst Haris Ćutahija made the remarks today while commenting on Ursula von der Leyen’s re-election as President of the European Commission.
Ursula von der Leyen was re-elected on Thursday at the European Parliament meeting in Strasbourg with 401 votes in favor. Of the 720 deputies in the parliament, 284 voted against.
Chiutahya said that because Ursula von der Leyen was elected President of the European Commission with MEPs of different political leanings, her promises also have a broad scope.
– For some time to come, we can expect the continuation of the EU’s green policy, which means ambitious targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, joint defense projects, a significant increase in security at the EU’s borders, and a host of social measures within the EU. In addition, she received a certain number of left-wing votes due to her stance on ending the “bloodshed in Gaza” – said Chutahya.
